Al
round pots are turned on a lathe and then the outer
design is hand chiseled onto the pot. The largest pots
we have made to date are four feet across by three feet
deep. It is important to also specify how narrow the
walls must and how deep the inside cavity must be. Our
pots do not deteriorate with water. As an experiment
we have filled out pots just with water to analyses
the porosity factor, after two hours the water has shown
a very light moisture color change on the outside of
the pot. It has no chemical reaction unlike untreated
cantera that has a dissolving calcium problem. To eliminate
porosity process we can hydro seal the inside and the
outside of the pot if requested at very low cost. However
some clients like to take advantage of our natural stones
ability to grow lichen and moulds for the aging romantic
impression, and thus choose not to do this. Or they
request us to only seal the inside of the pot. Please
remember that many cantera pots when sealed the sealer
only lasts for a year or two and the whole pot has to
be dried out and have it done again. I once had a factory
owner from Mexico encourage me to sell his cantera pots
claiming they would last at least five to ten years
with sealers, this kind of shocked me for what they
were going to cost, plus a customer once said the carving
looked like it had been done with a chain saw in comparison
to India's carving quality. Our off white limestone
can be stained to imitate almost any color as well.
If a client is looking for a very specific shade of
limestone. Due to this stone also having soft color
veins it will still look very natural. If you would
