So many people tell us, after seeing our fireplace designs, how sorry they were to have spent a similar amount of money on a molded cement fireplace. On account of it not being a combustible material, carved stone doesn’t have any building code regulations, such as the necessity of being a certain distance from the fire. We generally recommend that you select the fire surround stone (the wall plate) after you get your carved stone mantle piece, so that you can compliment the blend of stone more to your taste. We often get two fireplaces made with our commission orders, so we can perfect the blending of the stone types, and will sell the one that you don’t take. Delivery generally takes ten to twelve weeks, although mantle designs of over 80 inches can take longer. Our carved stone mantels range in price from $1,280 up to $6,000. These are available at our warehouse facility.

The slightly agatised, mica-free, natural sandstone that is used in all our products is of superior structural integrity, is much harder than limestone, travertine and cantera, and will last hundreds of years, in all types of weather conditions. Carved Stone International has purposely selected natural stone varieties that blend especially well in color and texture with local flagstone, thereby allowing for inexpensive landscaping in natural sandstone.
Our sandstones come in tan, beige, pink, light yellow, white, and rainbow color ranges.
This is an exceptionally important consideration when planning your landscaping budget, as your money is better spent on eye-catching artifacts than on paving, and yet they will blend and compliment each other so well. Please note that most ornamental companies in the U.S. that have Stone in their name actually sell cement, plaster, or polymer mix products. Only with natural stone, however, does the ambient beauty grow with age. Faux tone finishes and imitation stone products begin to look more and more like cement after a few years. On a daily basis clients tell us how sorry they were to have spent more on imitation stone molded products than our works of art. But they didn't know we existed.
