White Limestone 1A The Round Medallion is an off white carbonized limestone. Extensively used as a floor tile. It is very slightly porous and light enough in color to hold a variety of stains if not sealed. Hence the color can be matched to other color tiles such as the French and Bulgarian limestones. Small samples are available. But it is difficult to make large pieces without the attractive beige mottling effect being apparent. |

Light Teak ( Australian Sandstone ) These are samples of light teak agatised sandstone. Light Teak is very similar to and is often mistaken for the very popular Australian Sandstone. This stone has a cream yellow color with a soft brown line veining system. Sometimes this stone will have interesting occasional nodules, which is a concentrated agatization of silica and sandstone. As with all sandstone that Carved Stone International sells no stone that needs to be sealed in order to make it stronger. By rubbing any of our stones with your hand or a hard wooden stick you will notice that no sand grains are coming off and you’ll be surprised at the extreme hardness of the stone. |

Standard Teak Sandstone The interesting lines add spectacular character and old world charm to a material even the uncultured will recognize is a gift from Mother Nature and so much more beautiful than molded cement. This stone is very similar to architectural materials used in medieval and Roman Europe. Unlike marble or granite, agatised sandstone or limestone has an attractiveness and warm appearance without looking ostentatious. One landscaping feature of note in a damp climate, is if it is not sealed, lichen and other parasitic fungi can romantically grow upon it as well. |
