Our CD has over 220 designs from all over the world An extensive collection of line art columns (on our CD Catalog) offers numerous design options. For instance, you can cut and paste the top of one column onto the bottom of another. Any of these columns can be modified into balustrades, pedestals, coffee table legs, etc. Although our stone is certified in India for extremely heavy weight loads, as our temple photographs indicate, getting certification within your locality from an engineer may preempt you to consider having these columns cut down the middle and channeled to allow for steel or wooden infrastructure, and thereby circumventing the structural weight load requirement certificate. You are also welcome to view the columns in our temple category. Please take note that it is simpler and easier to carve the standard European classical designs, as opposed to the Indian column designs shown in these photographs. Columns can be cut into sections, or made in one piece. Dimensions must be drawn in by you and inspected by Carved Stone International for quality control. Prices for columns vary from $1,000 upwards, depending on the thickness of the column. Please bear in mind that the cost of freight is more costly than making the column itself. Meaning that the freight for such a large item is what most of this $1,000 cost would be for. Not the cost of making the column in our factory. All prices quoted to clients relate to the columns being delivered to our Carlsbad warehouses and not the cost of delivering it to their site. Occasionally, the standard delivery time of ten to twelve weeks may be extended by three to four weeks. This is due to the sheer volume of large blocks we have to receive from the particular quarry that excavates the stone that you have requested for your column. The process of matching the rock size and type differs from quarry to quarry. Marble and limestone takes a little longer to supply than sandstone. |
